At 6 AM on April 9th, a pristine sea of clouds appeared atop Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), creating a magical and poetic scene that captivated visitors from all over.

Images of a pristine sea of clouds flowing over Ba Den Mountain on April 9th (the 1st day of the 3rd lunar month) have garnered significant attention over the past two days. The photo collection attracted tens of thousands of interactions on social media.
It's reported that around 6 AM on April 9th, with clear blue skies over Tay Ninh, Ba Den Mountain looked from a distance as if it were wearing a giant hat of white clouds, creating a scene that was both magical and poetic.

These images were captured by journalist and travel blogger Nguyen Minh Tu (Ho Chi Minh City) on April 8th-9th. "I've visited Ba Den Mountain many times and truly love this place. Ba Den Mountain is not only a sacred peak in the Southeast region but also an attractive destination for tourists due to its fresh, cool air and numerous festivals rich in national identity.
Although a sea of clouds frequently covers the mountaintop, not every photography enthusiast is lucky enough to capture the moment when the clouds cascade like a flowing stream. I've tried cloud hunting here many times myself, but without success," Mr. Tu shared.

Recently, after reading about the season of cascading clouds appearing on Ba Den Mountain, Mr. Tu spent three days visiting to admire and photograph the phenomenon. "The moment the clouds flowed around the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue and the Maitreya Buddha statue made of sandstone happened very quickly. I had to capture this beautiful scene in a fleeting moment," Mr. Tu recounted.

Less than 100km from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Den Mountain is considered a perfect cooling escape during the hot season, as temperatures on the mountaintop are consistently 8-10 degrees Celsius lower than in the city. Early April is also an ideal time to witness the seas of clouds here.
A representative of the tourist area confirmed that impressive seas of clouds have been appearing frequently in recent days, attracting a large number of visitors.

Located at an altitude of 986m above sea level, Ba Den Mountain is known as the 'Roof of Southern Vietnam' and is a symbol of Tay Ninh province. A highlight of this mountain is the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue, standing 72m tall on the summit. It was meticulously designed, intricately carved, cast from over 170 tons of red copper, and recognized by the Asia Book of Records as the 'Tallest Bronze Buddha Statue on a Mountain Top in Asia'.

"The moment I flew the drone above the thick layer of mist, I saw the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue emerge as if from white clouds, creating a feeling like a fairyland paradise," Minh Tu recalled.
The rainy season in Tay Ninh lasts from May to November, and around July is considered the most beautiful and favorable time to hunt for lenticular cloud phenomena, appearing as flying saucers, cloud caps, and other fascinating cloud formations like fire rainbows or phoenix shapes on Ba Den Mountain. This year, these seas of clouds have appeared earlier and more frequently.

"The photos will be most stunning when visitors arrive on a brilliant sunrise day, with mist and clouds rolling in but not covering too high. In April, Tay Ninh weather is hot and humid, but every morning on the mountaintop, there are beautiful mist and clouds, easiest to capture between 6 AM and 9 AM. If you visit in May, at the start of the rainy season, the clouds on the mountain can be very dense, obscuring everything, making photography very difficult," Mr. Tu shared his experience.

Many locals and tourists take advantage of this period by monitoring the weather the previous afternoon and arriving at the foot of Ba Den Mountain early the next morning.
According to recent cloud-hunting experiences shared by many, if it rains the previous afternoon, the next morning might offer a chance to witness clouds covering the mountaintop in various unusual shapes. The heavier the rain in the afternoon, the more abundant and beautiful the clouds will be the following day.
