Do Son Traditional Buffalo Fighting Festival in 2025 will take place from August 1 to August 16 of the lunar calendar (ie from September 22 to October 7, the calendar) with two main contents: the ceremony and the festival. In particular, the ceremony includes: incense offering ceremony, upper flag of the festival; Water procession; Spirituality and Song Than ceremony.

Speaking at the press conference providing information about Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival - VTV 2025, Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Son Ward, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, said that this year's festival will have many important new points, related to the Regulation on organization, release and control of invitations, improving the quality of the audience service, ensuring security and order, changing the structure of award structure ...

In particular, the biggest difference is the inspection of buffalo fighting. The organizers have implemented three health checks, physical condition and safety of 16 buffaloes participating (instead of twice as every year).

Increasing inspection to eliminate ferocious or unsafe buffaloes, and at the same time have a timely alternative to ensure the festival takes place safely and civilized. Buffalo owners are responsible if their buffalo is dangerous but still registered to participate. This is a new step to improve the quality and ensure safety for people, tourists and buffalo athletes

Regarding the prize structure, the Organizing Committee has adjusted to increase the prize for the winning buffaloes in the festival compared to previous years. Specifically, the first prize of VND 100 million (an increase of VND 30 million), the second prize of VND 70 million (an increase of VND 30 million), 2 third prizes, each prize of VND 30 million (up VND 10 million/prize). There are also other extra prizes for buffaloes to attend the festival.

It is known that the total funding for this year's festival is about 3 billion dong. In particular, Hai Phong city supports the locality 1.3 billion dong, the rest will be mobilized by the organizers from socialization resources, receiving support from businesses and individuals and will return benefits in the form of propaganda and advertising at the festival.

The Organizing Committee plans to issue about 17,000 invitations to send to people, businesses and units attending the festival.

The festival will be broadcast live on the number of Vietnam Television Station (VTVGO) and the THP waves of Hai Phong Television and Broadcasting.
